  1. Ginny, I love all of your quotes, but the one that stands out is Deborah J. Leong's quote. I am personally against too much television viewing and video games. Too much screen time can have unhealthy side effects. It can take time away from healthy activities like active play outside with friends, children have become absolutely unaware of the fun of childhood, like flying kites, making castles out of sand, playing in the backyards, eating dinner together as a family, or reading. Parents should limit the number of TV-watching hours for their children.

  2. Hi Ginny,
The fantasy play quote of Dr. Leong resonates with me. When I was little we were outside for hours: playing in the barn, woods, in the pond, riding bike to relatives and nearby lake, playing with our cattle and pets. Our kids today, even my own, don't or won't take advantage of the great outdoors educational opportunity. We need to reserve that thought process.

  3. Good quote. That opportunity places on us all a divine responsibility. The future of the world, not just the children in our care, depends on how we use that opportunity. We just can't and must not fail as early childhood educators.
